Welcome Home to Geneva, NY

ACE paid our first visit to Geneva, NY, the hometown of our cellist, Hannah Collins.

I Found It by the Sea
The Acadia Chamber Ensemble recently commissioned a new work from Timo Andres, an extremely talented composer, pianist, and gourmet chef.  Timo was the recent winner of the Charles Ives Scholarship from the Academy of Arts and Letters and will have works premiered this season by the L.A. 2009 Winter Residency in Blue Hill, Maine

We visited Blue Hill from January 6th-12th to give a series of outreach presentations and performances in the area. 

January 6
4:00pm – Children’s Concert in the Howard Room at the Blue Hill Public Library.  Free and open to the public.

January 7
4:30pm -- Performance at the Parker Ridge Retirement Community

January 8
11am-12 -- ACE is pleased to announce our first radio appearance.   We will be featured on MPBN's "Classical Music with Suzanne Nance."  Be sure to tune in, and tell your friends!   Our thanks to Suzanne, Patty Stowell, and Darlene Allen for making this possible. 

January 9
Visit to Deer Isle-Stonington Elementary School for a school wide assembly and classroom presentation in collaboration with teacher Christel Kendzia.

January 10
7:30pm – Concert at the Blue Hill Congregational Church.  Music of Mozart, Martinu, Saariaho, and Dvorak.  Donations accepted. Map here.
